Here is a selection of 4 tapping licks in the key of Am. You can use them in any genre but I guess in rock guitar it fits most and if you want to go for the tapping technique of Eddie Van Halen please use your index finger of your tapping hand to tap in the note marked with a " T " - when I do it with my pic in my hand I normaly use my middle finger and still hold the pick to continue playing after the tapping sequence but this is up to you. Maybe check both techniques.

These are the tabs of this original which I recorded in 2014. It is played with finger picking and it's worth giving it a try. At the end there is some basic touch technique included.

If you truely want to master jazz guitar it is important that you listen to other players and how they improvised over a tune. Even better is when you make your own transcriptions. This here is the transcription of the guitar solo of Wes Montgomery in his recording of Billies Bounce, which is a jazz blues in F. Learning this solo by heart will help you to understand how you can make a jazz guitar solo to a jazz blues.
Here you can listen to the original solo :

Here is a selection of jazz rock licks which also work well in jazz. I personaly worked like 4-6 months on those licks to really work out the technical difficulties and you understand how the licks work over the certain chord progressions. If you really want to go into advanced jazz guitar and get some ideas these licks are for you. Really take your time to work them out - one by another. If you work on those licks you can write a review to let other students know about your progress and experience by working on those licks.
    Have some fun.
