  1. Speaking of Thin Lizzy I remember playing jailbreak back in the day with a cover band...OMG that was such a long time ago...lol
  2. Cool...thanks Mike!...chances are I have the CD packed away somewhere but in this day and age of music downloading and streaming who still uses CDs? LOL
  3. Hey Mike...thanks..what is name of his first album? ...I'll definitely check it out...
  4. Hey Michael I've always known about Gary's rock and blues playing but never about his jazz playing skills until seeing this interview
  5. OMG, yes...and Robin Trower could be added to our list of guitar greats...LOL
  6. I know the feeling, Mike...I agree with all of the ones you've added...its easy to forget because there are too many....how about Frank Gambale?
  7. Very cool lesson, HP..I like lessons like this where you can go back and forth with the rhythm and licks...
  8. Here is a list of my favorite guitarists, not necessarily in this order. What's yours? Jimi Hendrix Jimmy Page Tony Iommi Gary Moore Eric Clapton Yngwie Malmsteen Uli Jon Roth Michael Schenker Eddie Van Halen Randy Rhoads David Gilmore Alan Holdsworth Al Di Meola Glen Tipton Neil Giraldo Paul Gilbert Tom Scholz Elliot Easton Andy Summers The Edge Ritchie Blackmore Joe Satriani Ronnie Montrose
  9. Hey HP, I will let my wife listen. She does appreciate skillful and tasteful guitar playing but she's one of those types that prefers to listen to songs with lyrics. However I just sent one of my friends the link to your music who really digs guitar playing who might purchase your music and i will reach out to some more of my friends to see If they would be interested in supporting your work. Regards,
  10. Yeah so I did finally purchase HP's In Rock CD and all I can say that it's awesome! I really like it all but I'm a big fan of ballads so track number 06 Balade might be my favorite. I mean it's packed with so much emotion that it almost made me want to do something (I'll keep it clean here for the kiddies ?) but yeah it's freaking awesome!
  11. Hi HP, Actually it's Godin Concert Duet but close enough ?
  12. ? that’s a nice guitar HP...what make and model is it?
  13. Speaking of "Must Have" has anyone purchased HP's "In Rock" CD? I was just listening to some of the sample audio clips and determined that this is a must have for my music collection. I like to play instrumental CDs while relaxing sometimes or doing things around the house. The wife doesn't care for instrumentals as much but I guess us guitar players appreciate it more because we speak the guitar language. ?
  14. Hey HP, Only when I try to play things that require a stretch otherwise I'm OK.
  15. Who's the guitarist on this recording? sounds so Eddie Van Halen-esq
  16. Nice lesson HP...I like the fact that you play this in the first position. I remember playing this song when I was a teen. Even back then playing that stretch boogie shuffle was not easy for me. Now because of a wrist injury I try to avoid those type of stretches like the plague due to the pain that can linger for days. A matter of fact I stay away from the 3 note per string scale patterns with the stretch, at least on the lower end of the fretboard. Thankfully there are ways around this limitation of mine enabling me to still be able to play.
  17. Hi Mike, Yes Mr. Schenker is an inspiration to me as well. I pretty much love everything he has done but if I had to pick 3 of his songs that are my favorites I would say: Cry for the nation's, Lost Horizons and Feels like a good thing..
  18. Maybe you could do something on the style of Michael Schenker one of these days in the artist studies or cover section? Although in my opinion to play anything of Michael's is quite challenging. 2 of his less difficult songs that come to mind I played in a cover band back in the day were Armed and Ready from his first solo album and on and on from his second.
