So it's good when you understand the rhythm in the basic form. This will help you to enjoy blues and blues improvisation more because you have a stable timing and rhythm feel in blues guitar. Here are some examples which I wrote for you using full notes, half notes, quarter notes, shuffled eight notes and trippets. These are the basic rhythm figures and the better you know them the more precise you can play and improvise blues guitar. Scales From the basic blues improvisation you know that you can play the minor pentatonic in a blues guitar improvisation. Thats a cool thing to do and many players work mainly with that scale but if you want to go to a next level of your improvisation abilities you can start to work with other scales. Here you find a list which scales can be used on which guitar chord : A7 A minor pentatonic A blues scale A major pentatonic A mixolydian scale D7 A minor pentatonic A blues scale D mixolydian scale E7 A minor pentatonic A blues scale E mixolydian scale F#7 /F#m7 A minor pentatonic A blues scale A major pentatonic B7 A minor pentatonic A blues scale B mixolydian scale Riffs Blues riffs always work the same. It's combinations of A to A6 and / or A7. In this chapter I show you a few commen riffs on the example of A. You can use those riffs on the A7 the D7 and E7 but they don't really work on the F#7 or B7 Licks & Improvisation When it comes to the improvisation you can try to work with the different scales and the method of question and anwser as you learned in the basic blues guitar course. This works exactly the same as before but you can include the new scale opportunities as described in the scales chapter. HP's Version At the end I show you how I work with my system I showed. As an inspiration for you. Advanced Blues ( Complete Beginners Course).pdf Advanced Blues ( Complete Beginners Course).gp Slow Blues A 50.mp3 Slow Shuffle A 70.mp3
