If you want to have a real challenge in your guitar life then this one's for you. These are the tabs of the final battle in the epic guitar duel in the movie " Crossroads " performed by Steve Vai and also Steve Vai. Well the other guy was an actor who imitated Steve Vai. It's an excerpt of Paganini's Caprice No. 5. The version of Steve Vai is called Eugene's Trick Bag and is a big challenge for every aspiring guitar player and the Caprice no. 5 is even harder. I have attached both files for all fans of classical stuff on guitar. Both pieces are very demanding and will keep you busy for a few months or even longer till you will be able to play them fluently. But even if you might never reach the speed needed it is in fact a great technical exercise and will bring your playing on a new technical level - so I recommend this to every intermediate - advanced guitar player who wants to proceed to the next playing level. But I would start with Steve Vai's version since this one is one level easier then the original composition. If you give a try, let me know in the review how it is going for you.

  2. Guitar Secrets - Emotional Softrock If you want to carry a instrumental softrock tune over 3 minutes you need to learn to create a theme, make variations of the theme and interact with the arrangement or in short words you need to make music and let your guitar sing in a way which touches the hearts of your audience. You love such songs from artists like Gary Moore, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and many others. The system is always the same. I share with you my experiences of many years of professional guitar playing and professional composing. Playing live is also composing - I call it instant composing.
  3. I have always been a huge fan of Steve Vai. For me is still the unchallenged number one rock guitar player. It's about time to make it to make a tutorial about his types of instrumental rock ballads. They often come along in the measure of 6/8. I created a track in the key of E minor in the measure of 6/8 and in this tutorial I show you how the rhythm guitar is played and after that very short introduction to 6/8 rhythm guitar I going to give you some easy going instructions how to create great rock balade lead sounds and how to create those long notes which make them so great. The really great feature of Steve Vai’s guitar playing is it absolute perfect tone control in every situation of lead guitar. I give you some insight how you can work with slight pinch harmonics and slipping the tone into overtones and to create great long notes with your lead guitar. So this tutorial doesn't really talk about how to do the typical Steve Vai guitar licks. It’s more about tone control and how you can control with your tone with your vibrato, your bendings and the distortion settings in combination with pinch harmonics.
