Premium Otman Posted January 2, 2023 Premium Report Share Posted January 2, 2023 Thank you for this lesson, HP. I had heard of the name Blue Bossa, but never connected it with the tune. This will have to be the next tune I learn. Happy New Year! Wishing you success, love, good health and happiness.
Premium Otman Posted January 2, 2023 Premium Report Share Posted January 2, 2023 Hey HP, I had given up on being able to play Smooth Jazz because my fingers are not fast enough to do those cool runs. But last night I saw someone showing how they had improved their speed by practicing for a month, using a metronome. I watched your Masterclass on Smooth Jazz and Legato. Any general thoughts or suggestions on how to improve speed for Smooth Jazz runs?
Admin admin Posted January 3, 2023 Author Admin Report Share Posted January 3, 2023 Hey Otman, I sorry to hear that but it is a common problem of many students. The main reason for not reaching the nessessary speed is in fact the lack of continous technical practicing which is normal when one has a job, a familly and other things to do. But there is also a softer approach on playing kind of fast and smooth. I will make a tutorial about this. But if you really want to do those runs - then do those exercises you said - but more then a month. It has to be a daily routine. So figure out how much time you can invest daily into that and then just start it slow. There is no reason for stress. Just do the exercises. I probably also will make a tutorial about that.
