Admin admin Posted March 4, 2022 Admin Report Share Posted March 4, 2022 Black Orpheus - Jazz Guitar Lesson ( Bossa Nova ) Here you can learn the theme, the chords and an easy improvisation of the jazz standard " Black Orpheus ". First I show the theme as written in the real book, then the chords and then how you can improvise by playing around the melody. Here you can download the tabs of the melody and the chords displayed & the backing track I have used : Randy and Jeff W 2 Quote www.hanspeterkruesi.comif you love this website please support it either with aPremium Membership or / andDonation

This YouTube video is of the composer of the music, Luiz Bonfa, playing and singing the song in the original language, in 1966. The video lasts about 10 minutes and might be of interest. In addition to playing and singing A Day In The Life Of A Fool, which is at the end of the video, the second song he plays imitates percussion instruments. Really interesting and great playing. Hope you like it. Randy

Premium Greg Posted May 10 Premium Report Share Posted May 10 Hi HP….just connecting: Love the improv in this version…so smooth. I have been working on this piece for a while now….chord progression is not that easy to play smooth and comfortably….as for improv….a long ways from attempting that.. Admin admin Posted May 10 Author Admin Report Share Posted May 10 really nice and simple - I would say that's the way bossa nova was always meant to be - when you listen to orginal Jobim recordings, it all always comes very simple and smooth.
